Get the fuck outta here.
Another guy called... nice guy, but seemed concerned by the many character flaws even though the *asking* price is exactly what the KBB calls for... He said his wife wants a perfect car. I told him to increase his budget.

Trying to sell some integra seats that didnt fit the civic, guy asks for 7, and insists they fit on a Montana SV6.

I think the seats may be worth more than the Montana itself.

Back a few years ago, I sold my Tempo on Craigslist......listed all the flaws, took plenty of pictures and listed a *firm CASH* price based on the wholesale value of the car.
Didn’t list a phone number...just a disposible email address. Sold it to the first person that looked at it. He tried to lowball me, I told him I’d take his offer in a week if it didn’t sell by then. Unsurprisingly, he had the cash for my full asking price on him.

“Your price seems fair. Would you take a pair of bluetooth headphones instead of cash.”
I hate CL. It takes 50 Fapwits to find the reasonable person who answers, shows up, and makes a reasonable offer.

Jeezus H. Christ.. Want a perfect car? Buy a new one, asshole...
Jeez I hate the CL jackasses
. I had some knucklehead email recently about a guitar I’m selling, asking what’s bottom price, condition, where are you located, etc. I asked “Did you read the ad?” and he got pissed. Moron.

I still prefer going around, finding the car IRL, determining what my offer would be, and only then finding and checking the inevitable CL ad on my phone to see if the owner will take my offer or if I should just walk away. This method has served me well, except for the time that I let that nissan z car just slip away.

That works for buying, and when you show up as the buyer it works great for the seller as well. You don’t waste his time, and hopefully, he/she doesn’t waste yours.

Yeah it generally works well for both parties. Except the time me and my friend were looking for a 280z to 2j swap. We found a super clean 280 and just figured we couldn’t defile it or afford it. The dude selling it came out of his house while we were checking it out and we told him that it was too clean for us, but he was nice enough to show it off for us anyway. The CL ad listed it for 1600 and we found the ad just late enough for it to already be sold.
